Checking in...

It's been a few days since I've posted, and I'm feeling guilty for it. It's the holidays though, right?

I've been reading a lot of Wendell Berry (I adore him and wish I was a farmer) and some original Sherlock Holmes stories after watching the new movie.

I've been thinking a lot about the issue of advocacy, and what's actually meaningful, as it continues to come up here and elsewhere on the blogosphere: "is this really helping anything?!"

I'll be exploring that a little bit, soon.

Also, my good friend Adele is coming to visit. Maybe I can convince her to do a little video-blogging with me!!!

Talk to you soon,
Peter

YES! on the video with Adele!!!
In fact, do something more than just a couple minutes.

I'd love to see you both sit down and chew through something for the rest of us to see.

And, yah, I guess you are forgiven for being a bit of a truant in the posting department.

Peter,

I stumbled across your blog and am so glad i did. I'm a Unitarian Universalist so respecting others' faith is a tenet of my own. This gets harder and harder, though-- people who claim to speak for christianity encourage hate and discourage independent thought so often nowadays that it becomes really difficult to have genuine respect for Christianity. Reading your thoughts helps to remember that there are Christians out there who really are dedicated to a peaceful and loving path. Thanks!

Anonymous ('M'),
Thanks so much for the visit and the kind words.

I'm a Christian Universalist, which I know is a little different, but I really resonate with your comments about hatred, lack of independent thinking, and the importance of peaceful, loving lifestyles.

I've actually had very little interaction with active Unitarians but I have known a few who "dabbled" at one time or another - I'm so glad you stopped by! I hope you'll return and share some insights from your journey.

Blessings to you,
Peter
